#20ThingsAboutMe

It was trending yesterday so I decided to join the online community to reveal some facts about myself. Since last year, tweeting has been part of my daily routine from sunrise ‘til sundown. It has become an outlet for me to put across my thoughts, feelings, observations, experiences, among other things.  If I were to anthologize my over 18,000 tweets, I would have come up with quite a number of blog entries. Frenzied lifestyle really restrains a favorable juncture of circumstances for me to blog. But, hey! Thanks to Twitter! Finally, I can update my blog.

Anyway, let me share to you 20 things about me that I tweeted yesterday. Who knows? We might share some things in common. I have to say though that these facts were tweeted in a haphazard course. They’re not arranged according to importance or whatsoever.

  1. I am single for almost a year now. Bwahaha! Inuna talaga ang status?! LOL! (I swear, this was the first thing that came into my mind. Perhaps, I’ve been wanting to have a partner real soon. LOL!)
  2. I love cats! Trivia: Serial killers have fondness for cats. Do I have the potential? Hmm.
  3. I am a son of a politician but I don’t like politics, personally. Sorry, dad. J
  4. I love watching movies specially the “bloody” ones. But, I barely remember the titles of them.
  5. As a Scorpio, I can keep secrets unless given the green light to spill the bean.
  6. I love food but not much on sweets. I prefer it salty and spicy.
  7. I may be mean at times but I always have a soft heart for the oldies. I grew up with my grannies so that explains.
  8. During my tender years, I used to write poems. I love poetry.
  9. I’ve been living alone here in Cebu for 13 years now. My family is in Zamboanga.
  10. I was supposed to study medicine but I couldn’t decide which preparatory course I should take, thus, I ended taking up MassComm.
  11. I am forgiving but I take vengeance at times.
  12. I love music. It feeds my soul with serenity. On the other hand, it also unleashes the party animal in me.
  13. I love Starbucks! Coffee Jelly is my favorite.
  14. I tend to spend more bucks on food than any other things in the world. Food is heaven!
  15. Coca Cola is my everyday milk.
  16. I am a content writer in the company but I’m too indolent to write most of the times.
  17. I’m not fond of reading. I guess, that’s the reason why my writing skill is getting rustic.
  18. I feel really irritated when I sweat while eating. I need to eat in a cold ambiance.
  19. I usually get attracted to someone who has a nice set of teeth.
  20. I have loved and got hurt many times but I never give up on love. I still believe in love after all.
Wanna know my whereabouts real time? Let's tweet! Follow me on Twitter! (Artesta, artesta. LOL!)

It's Timmy!

Surprise! I figured it would be a great idea to add another entry to this page. This has been left unattended and dormant for quite sometime now. Out of ennui, my mind has been so exploited with thoughts of my own conception. I’ve thought of writing a blog, reading a book, watching a movie and a lot more. But, what would pacify my mind from this conundrum, if I may call it as such, is good music. So, I browsed through YouTube and listened to one of my favorites – Timmy Pavino.

Now, you might be asking who the hell he is. Neither do I know him personally. LOL! I just had a glimpse of his song cover of Angeline Quinto’s Patuloy ang Pangarap on YouTube some time ago. His vocal performance on that video overwhelmed me. It was seamless, soul-warming and truly inspiring. Honestly, I never liked the song until I heard him sang it. That same day, I “liked” his fan page on Facebook and became one of his avid fans. I followed him on Twitter and would you believe it? He followed me back. That’s just gratifying and really admirable. Another thing that impacts me about Timmy is that he takes time to read and responds to his fans’ comments on Facebook and tweets on Twitter. He even makes extra effort in creating fan signs upon his fans’ requests. Oh yes, I requested for a fan sign and you can see it below. J

I even posted the photo on my FB wall, which triggered some of my friends to start asking if he is the new guy. LOL! How I wish! Nevertheless, listening to his songs and getting my comments and tweets replied by him are satisfying enough. J I’m not really a fanatic person but I just couldn’t resist adoring such a wonderful voice and humble personality, not to mention, his cute countenance with finely chiseled features and really contagious smile. What else would you ask for? LOL!

Timmy is a pop balladeer who lives in Kirkland, WA as what his YouTube page says. Although he’s now in the US, his being a Filipino still flows through his veins as manifested in the songs he sings. His covers usually feature OPM songs, which makes me proud of him. He’s made concert appearances with some Pinoy legendary artists – some of these concerts are Dolphy at 80, Kuh Ledesma: The Best of 25 years, and Mega UpClose. And, he has done numerous performances in the US. One of which is It’s a Journey… Timmy@20.

I wish I could get a chance to watch him live on stage. We don’t know perhaps in the coming years, this wish can become a reality. J I think it would be a great feeling watching him sing an array of love songs with a special someone beside me. Yikes! The thought giggles me. LOL!

Anyway, to wrap this up I suggest you visit his page on YouTube and listen to his renditions.J If you find time, you can click the link below. J

Just like my previous entry, I posted below my personal favorite among all Timmy’s covers – Patuloy ang Pangarap.

Enjoy!

Experiencing Kurt and Sam's Music

Not so long ago, I stumbled upon an interesting video on YouTube while I was searching for Glee’s rendition of Don’t Stop Believing. In case you don’t know, I had been addicted to watching Glee last year. One of my personal favorites is their own version of that Journey’s original. Anyway, going back to that video, I was flabbergasted upon watching it. The video’s not visually or graphically lucrative but what amazed me is this guy’s cover of that song. His name is Sam Tsui. In that video, he’s like a one-man choir singing Don’t Stop Believing using multiple pitch variations. Literally, there were five Sams in the video singing altogether at the same time. Well, thanks to digital technology. I find it awesomely entertaining.

I got really bored today so I spent most of my times watching his videos. Apparently, he has a friend, who produces his videos. His name is Kurt Hugo Schneider. Their tandem is a perfect chemistry. No wonder their videos have been reaching millions of hits. Like our very own Charice, they already appeared as guests on The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. That’s just wonderful, isn’t it? They level up to this era’s YouTube sensations. If you’d listen to one of their interviews, you’d learn that they both share the same passion, they love what they’re doing and they’re having fun. I think that’s the main ingredient of their successful collaboration.

Personally, I like their mash up of Love the Way You Lie, Dynamite and Teenage Dream. The output is just so fantastic. The beat is so contagious that I get myself into the groove. Aside from mash ups and medleys, they also have original compositions that I find really cool such as Don’t Want an Ending. These guys are really talented. They’ve got the voice. They play musical instruments. And, I just love their music. I am a music lover but my love for music is only limited to listening to it as it plays. I sing but I am just not convinced that I have the voice that really sings. I am just happy that I can hit notes though (no pun intended). LOL!

Anyway, if you want to watch their videos and experience their music, you can check them out at http://www.youtube.com/user/KurtHugoSchneider. Oh, you might be thinking that I am getting paid for doing this, huh? LOL! Of course not, they don’t even know me. I am just their newest supporter and I want to share this with you. I definitely am having fun watching them on YouTube and am sure looking forward to more video uploads of their music in the future. I posted my favorite mash up below. So, enjoy!

Oh by the way, I just followed them both on Twitter! LOL!

Getting Poetic 2

Like I mentioned in my second entry, there’s so much to write about love. This entry features the poem that I wrote when I was heartbroken. Oh yes, I’ve been through that many times. I guess, I was too unfortunate or I just never learned. I hope the latter is considerably right because if that’s the case, I still have the chance to grasp and imbibe the lessons that I should have learned through my experiences even before.

This poem depicts a forlorn heart that is so worn out, too tired to even see the brighter dimension of life. Sometimes, when you’re feeling so much pain in your heart, you find it difficult to rationalize because your emotional partiality has enveloped and taken control of your personal prerogative. In many instances, what you feel is even more influential than what you think especially at the height of your emotional tumult.

So, here you go.

Haywire

Believing a fantasy
Dreaming of a reality
Smiling amidst pain
Wishes starting to wane

Loving beyond limits
Hoping hope never quits
Hooked up with a binge
Enfeebled by a twinge

Enslaved by fate’s mockeries
Life’s ruled by insecurities
Shedding tears at night
Seeking reasons to fight

Devoured by hopelessness
Feeling so worthless
Wrists are cut, blood incessantly gushes
Eyes are closed, running out of breath
Mind halts to think, and so I welcome death.

Tummy Ache Ruins My Day!

It all started when I had a tummy ache. Then, the rest was a ruin. I really hate it when my stomach messes up with me. I can bear headache, fever, colds or cough but upset stomach? It just drives me insane. Who wouldn’t be? It always drags me back and forth to the wash room regardless of where am at or what am doing. It’s like a demanding boss who yells at you to do this and that even at the middle of your coffee break.

I have this situation that every time my stomach rants like a nagging wife to her stubborn husband, the orifice down there acts like an active volcano ready to spew lava and butyric gases. It compels me to rush to the restroom or else I’ll end up a total stinky mess. I wouldn’t want that to happen, would I? I mean, at my age that’s a major embarrassment.

Here’s what happened. Last Friday, I really had a bad day. It’s supposed to be exciting since it’s the last leg of my work week then payday the following day. Just in time for the Halloween celebration. However, that same day I woke up early in the morning even before the tintinnabulation of my alarm. And, that’s because of a sharp pain in my stomach. I had to get off my bed and hurried my way to the toilet to, you know, respond to what I thought was just a simple call of nature. Only to find out it was just the start of a horror. I yanked myself five freaking times to the restroom, drank a lot of water, and took a couple of Loperamide tablets just to eliminate the pain and lessen the frequency of going to the bog. Because of that, I came in to work late. I could barely smile because of the discomfort that I was feeling. I was sulked most of the times. The mailers that I wrote were all rubbish. Oh, thanks to my lead for editing them. LOL. Per Demi in her comment to Migraine Boy’s blog entry in response to my comment, I kinda had wrinkles all over my face last Friday. Well, what can I say? I couldn’t agree more. LOL.

Really, tummy ache ruined my day! It always does!

Going Poetic

Let’s go a little bit poetic this time. Personally, I like poetry. This is where I started to appreciate the art of writing. Poetry, for me, is a product of our imagination bearing out our intense emotion towards life, in general, artily expressed through words.

When I was still at my younger years, I used to write poems about my experiences in life especially about love. Yes, love. It sounds so mushy, I know. But, I think you would agree with me that there is so much to write about love. I guess that’s the reason why when some people fall in love, the poet in them just comes out spontaneously. It’s like the seashore that gleams when kissed by sunbeams, or the trees that sway when the wind passes their way. What a beautiful sight, isn’t it?

Anyway, speaking of love poems, let me share to you one of my favorite poems that I wrote when I was madly in love (take note, madly in love. LOL). I couldn’t remember when that was but the person, yes. The relationship didn’t last long though. I messed up. LOL.

Here you go.

Murder Me With Your Love

Burn me with the flame of your touch
More fervent than the sun's scorching bask.
Asphyxiate me with the strength of your embrace
Tighter than a golden knot firmly fixed in place.

Blind me with the lancinating stare of your eyes
Like hail of blades poured down from the skies.
Crush me with the intensity of your affection
Like a boulder of diamond pitched at my direction.

Impair me with your lethal kiss of desire
Let me feel death amidst our bliss empire.
Pierce my heart with a sword blessed from above
Let me bleed and murder me with your love.

ON BOARD ;-)

It's been ages since the last time I objectified my thoughts into writing. Perhaps, there's nothing really interesting to write about or there's just a dearth of inspiration to galvanize myself into such artistry, hobby or whatever you call it. There must have been a lethargic element that infiltrated my system for me to seemingly renounce writing.

Paradoxically, my current job requires a lot of writing. But, believe me, there were so many instances that I wanted to bash my head against the wall just for my thoughts to come out. Oftentimes, I am wedged within a phase of every writer's life where words seem tight and minds malfunction. Yeah, you're probably right. It's never an excuse especially if you have deliverable to meet and deadlines to catch up. That's when they say, when circumstances call for it, your ability to write just comes out naturally. True enough. But then again, it's different when you're eager to write about something you want from needing, make that obligated, to write about something. Does it make a sense?

You might be asking why I started to blog. Well, some people inspire me to, not to excuse my Lead, who is getting so engrossed with his blogging. I follow his blog, by the way. He probably is updating his blog now while am trying to come up with my own. I'll definitely check his site once I'm done with this. :-) A number of my friends are also into writing as well, so I've thought, it would be a nice idea to join them in their "blogcapade" (Oh, this is what I love in blogging, you can coin your own word. LOL!). What are friends for, right?

So, this is it! This is the “write” time. You are very much welcome to read my pieces but don’t ever blame me if they bore you. :-p

LethaL KisseR is finally ON BOARD!
